Help Desk Technician

The Help Desk Technician is responsible for providing fast and useful technical assistance on operating computers and phone systems. An excellent Help Desk Technician must have good technical knowledge and be able to communicate effectively to understand the problem and work towards solution.

 The Help Desk Technicians serves as the first point of contact for associates seeking technical assistance.    Essential duties and responsibilities include:                   

  • Ability to support, monitor, test and troubleshoot hardware, software and Information Technology (IT) issues
  • Ensure all information systems are operated, maintained and disposed of per compliance directives
  • Ensure all users have the appropriate security clearance, authorization, and need to know, and are aware of their security responsibilities
  • Support the management and technical team by being an organizational bridge of communication and specifications

 The desired skills and qualifications include:

  • Proficiency in tools of communication (i.e., Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Internet resources)
  • Proficiency in Windows operating systems (Windows 7, 8.1 and 10)
  • Proficiency with IOS devices (IPhones and IPads)
  • Strong problem solving and analytical skills
  • Understand basic internet and client/server architectures
  • Ability to quickly learn new technologies and concepts
  • Ability to work independently while also exhibiting a strong team approach to managing and developing business relationships
  • Excellent communication skills that include listening, verbal and written skills
  • Ability to easily switch between multiple tasks and manage time while contributing to multiple projects
  • Associate or Bachelor degree in an IT-related field (Computer Science, Information Systems, Mathematics, or a Business-related field)
  • Proven ability to work effectively within all organizational levels and departments to achieve desired results; the ability to work independently and as a member of a team.

  • Ability to make decisions; capacity to solve problems
